Framer.js was an open-source JavaScript framework that was made to be a prototyping tool in code, by and for designers.
2014
Framer Studio
A new way to think about prototyping, Framer Studio aimed to encourage exploration and help designers effectively communicate concepts using CoffeeScript.

2016
Auto-code
Framer Studio with Auto-code was released with the goal of giving you the power of code combined with the ease of visual editing.
2018
Framer X
Framer X was released with a powerful design canvas and the world’s first interactive design marketplace with the goal of making prototyping accessible to all.
2019
for Framer Web First commit
A small team pushed forward and got to work on the next generation of web-based prototyping. Framer Web was on its way.
Playground Framer
The playground was geared towards creative developers with the same mission, create interactions no visual tool could express—made with physics, real data, and logic.
Framer Motion
Our open-source beginnings come full circle. Framer Motion is a new open source, production-ready motion library for React on the web.
Closed Beta Framer Web
We couldn’t wait to show you Framer on the web. With live collaboration, commenting, and sharing as simple as sending a link—this beta group quickly expanded.
2020
Insert Menu
Your one stop shop for all things interactive, UI, utility, and design. The Insert Menu was released with the goal of decreasing the time from idea to prototype.

Magic Motion
It’s Framer Motion you can use in the canvas, it’s Magic. Magic Motion unlocked the most unique screen transitions—no code required.
Framer Web
