About Year of Trees

A Year of Trees brings composers, string quartets, and local environmental groups together to honor and protect trees through music. I designed the brand identity and built the site in Framer.

The identity grew from one idea: a tree adds a ring each year, so the logo uses a double-stroke ring to make a "year" visible. For the site, the goal was to turn interest in a concert into support for a cause. The page moves visitors from the music (12 new works, the composers, the performing ensembles) to the people behind it, then to a transparent budget breakdown and an embedded donation form. Partner impact, like the share of proceeds going to Portland Fruit Tree Project, sits next to the ask so donors can see where their money goes. A consortium section invites quartets nationwide to bring the program to their own communities.
