About ASCII Hero Image

Drop in any image and get an interactive ASCII art hero for your Framer site. A live ASCII effect editor packaged as a ready-to-use component: pick a style, tune the symbols and watch it update right on the canvas. Works great with transparent PNGs, sculptures, portraits, products and illustrations.

Features

  • Image to ASCII art in real time (WebGL shader, smooth on desktop)

  • 4 styles: Normal (original colors), ASCII, Paint, or Auto, which cycles through them

  • Cursor-reactive hero effect

  • Symbol swirl: animated glyphs orbiting your image, with an On/Off switch

  • Symbol size from 1px to 8px, from ultra-fine to bold ASCII

  • Works with any image (transparent PNG recommended)

  • Use it as a full hero or as a still image

  • Responsive: opens at 1200 x 750 and fills any frame

  • Fewer symbols on small screens for better performance

Customization

  • Image: upload your own

  • Use as: Hero (full effect) or Still: Normal / ASCII / Paint

  • Style sequence: Auto, Normal, ASCII, Paint

  • ASCII: symbol size (1-8px)

  • Swarm: symbol swirl On/Off, count, strands, glyphs, spin

  • Motion: pointer response

Great for

  • Hero sections and landing pages

  • Portfolios and creative studios

  • Product and brand launches

  • Music, art, fashion and editorial sites

  • Retro, cyber and tech aesthetics

How to use

  1. Insert the component and set its frame (1200 x 750 by default).

  2. Upload your image under Image (transparent PNG works best).

  3. Choose Use as and a style, then adjust ASCII size and Swarm.

  4. Open Preview: the cursor effect runs in Preview and on the live site.

Launch weekend price: $9 until Sunday night (regular price $12). Made by Erni Hdz. Questions or bugs: aedlgdhdz@gmail.com

Your headline stays real, selectable text (add your H1 as a normal Framer layer on top), so Google and screen readers read it. Motion is Autoplay by default, so touch devices get the effect without a cursor. "Auto" is a style, not a motion mode.
