Meridian Globe

A globe drawn in dots from Natural Earth map data, with your places marked and arcs drawn between them. It turns slowly and can be dragged.

Type any city by name: Paris, Paris, France, Arabic names such as دبي, or coordinates like 48.86, 2.35. 1,276 cities are built in, including every capital. A red note on the canvas names any city it cannot find.

Controls

• Places: City and an optional shown label per place.

• Arcs: No arcs, arcs from the first place, or a chain in order.

• Arc Color: Arc colour.

• Arc Width: Arc line thickness.

• Arc Height: How high arcs rise.

• Markers: Show the place dots.

• Marker Color: Marker colour.

• Marker Size: Marker size.

• Marker Rings: Thin ring around each marker.

• Labels: Show place names.

• Font: Label font.

• Label Color: Label colour.

• Label Background: Rounded background behind each label.

• Background Color: Label background colour.

• Continents: Dots only on land.

• Dot Color: Dot colour.

• Dot Size: Dot size.

• Ocean Dots: Faint dots over the sea.

• Ocean Color: Colour of the sea dots.

• Globe Fill: Solid disc behind the dots.

• Fill Color: Globe fill colour.

• Auto Spin: Turn on its own.

• Spin Speed: Turn speed.

Phones, dark mode, Arabic

Fewer dots and sideways drag on phones. With reduced motion it does not turn. Colour controls take your tokens, so dark mode follows the theme, and it works on Arabic right-to-left pages.
