Living Landscape

A free animated desert background, drawn live in layers. The dunes move with the mouse, a caravan walks forward as visitors scroll, and the sky turns from dawn to night.

What you can customize

- Time: fixed or day cycle, with time of day and day length

- Walk speed, scroll walk and mouse depth

- Layers and relief

- Stars, clouds and the caravan

- Film grain

Details

- Lanterns light up at night.

- A matching gradient shows on the first paint, so there is never a blank hero.

- Stops drawing when off screen and respects reduced motion.

- No images, videos or requests to other servers.
