About Riso Halftone
Animated risograph backgrounds for Framer.
Riso Halftone is a generative background: soft two-ink halftone patterns that drift, ripple and breathe, with the misregistered edges and paper grain of a real riso press. Drop it behind any section, pick a palette, and tune every dot.
What you can do
Colour: start from 8 palettes (5 soft, 3 fluoro), override any single ink, or go fully custom.
Dots: circles, diamonds, squares or lines, at any size and angle.
Motion: flow, ripple, wave or pulse — on its own, or driven by scroll.
Print feel: off-register second ink, overprint and paper grain.
Interaction: the ink gathers around the cursor.
Built to stay light
Runs on WebGL. It pauses when off screen, respects reduced-motion settings, and has a quality setting to keep phones smooth.
How to use
Add the component to a section.
Set it to Absolute, pinned to all four edges, so it fills the section.
Place your content on top.
Make it move to music
Pair it with Riso Player Component (sold separately), and every beat knocks the print out of register. Without the player, everything else works as normal.
