Cloister

Cloister is a free members' club website template for an independent private members' club or social club: a city social club, a creative work-and-dine club, or a small town-house club with a bar, a dining room, a members' workroom, rooms and events.

The club's own house book

Every section is a bound-book spread, with a running head, a folio number and a centre gutter, and the home page opens with a book that gently leafs, with a Pause control. Exclusivity comes from restraint, typography and material (ecru paper, racing green, oxblood and gilt, set in Fraunces), never from hiding the content.

It runs the whole club

• How to join: apply or be nominated, then the committee and the waiting list.

• Membership categories, with plain sample fees you simply edit.

• House rules and dress code.

• The spaces: a CMS collection for every room, with photos and capacities.

• What's on: members' events as public teasers (a second CMS collection).

• Reciprocal clubs: a calm gazetteer of like-minded houses.

• Private hire for members, with an enquiry form.
