A hero stack of essays

The five latest essays lie as a fanned stack of covers. Drag or swipe the top one away, press Next, or leave it: it moves to the back and the next story comes up. A paper slip carries its first line, beside a real subscribe field.

Essays that pin as you scroll

Full-width cover cards settle one over another, each with its topic, date and read time.

Topics, photographs and the writer

A moving row of topics with essay counts, an about-the-author block whose words fill in as you scroll under a drawn signature, and eight travel photographs that slide sideways and open in a lightbox.

The Sunday letter

A paper envelope opens on a lit desk; pick a past issue and the letter inside swaps. Then notes pinned on a rail you can drag, a shelf of the books the writer is reading, a deck of reader letters to swipe and an FAQ.
