About localhost
Localhost: a terminal-style portfolio template for developers
Localhost is a single-page portfolio for software engineers who'd rather show their work than describe it. The whole page reads like a shell session: a sam@localhost ~/who-is-this header, a whoami intro with a typewriter line, and your projects listed as if you'd run ls ./things-i-made.
What's included
Typewriter intro that cycles through short lines about you
Project list with a hover state that reveals a second line of copy, so each row can hold a description and a punchline
Contact section styled as cat contact.txt, with rows for email, GitHub, Bluesky, LinkedIn and résumé
Light and dark themes with a built-in toggle. Both modes have been checked for contrast, including the hover states.
Hidden easter egg: type the Konami code and the accent colour changes
Responsive layout for desktop, tablet and phone
Easy to make your own
All colours are colour styles, so one accent change restyles the whole site.
Text uses shared text styles, set in JetBrains Mono.
Project rows are a reusable component with fields for name, blurb, hover blurb, meta and link. Duplicate a row, change the text and paste in your link.
Who it's for: developers, engineers, indie hackers and anyone who wants a quiet, fast personal site with some personal
