Mezzanine

About Mezzanine

Mezzanine is for a small hotel with a strong sense of place: a cliff hotel, a townhouse on several floors, a guesthouse on a hillside. Anywhere the building itself is the story.

The home page opens as a lift ride. A large numeral, the level's name and one line sit beside a photograph; scroll, and the numeral rolls, the photo travels up with a gap behind it, and the next level arrives. Each level is one item in the CMS, so a buyer with four floors or seven gets a ride of four or seven. The level shown in the navigation follows you down the rest of the site.

It is light only, set in General Sans at regular weights, with hairlines in place of cards and one muted sea-blue accent used sparingly. The photographs are graded as one set. No serif headline, no badge over a pool photo.
