Every project can now be set to one of three media types directly from the CMS - uploaded video, Vimeo link, or image only - and the timeline adapts automatically. Point your projects to Vimeo and your video weight leaves Framer entirely: it streams from Vimeo's CDN instead of your site's bandwidth.

Performance update (08/25)

Major memory and bandwidth improvements on the homepage timeline, background videos and images now load only what's needed, instead of all at once. Fixes stuttering and crashes on phones and tablets.

To update: in the Assets tab, click Update on both TimelineScrubber and TimelineScrubberItem (they work as a pair).

Note: on mobile, videos wider than 2560px now show the project's still image instead of playing - a 4K file is decoded at 4K even on a phone, which is what caused the crashes. If your videos are 1080p, nothing changes. Re-export oversized ones and they'll play again automatically. Adjustable in the component settings.
