Substance

Substance is a free portfolio template for portrait, editorial and campaign photographers. Visitors enter through a scroll-driven tunnel of your images, then move into a dark editorial layout built around big type, quiet metadata and a single red accent.

Every project and journal entry lives in the CMS, so adding work takes minutes. Each project gets its own page with intro, story and gallery.

Pages: Home, Work, Project, Studio, Journal, Article, Contact, Privacy, Terms and a custom 404.

What’s inside

• Scroll-driven 3D tunnel hero with floating photos

• Work index with category filter and a cursor-following preview, tap to preview on touch

• CMS collections for projects and journal, with detail pages and previous/next navigation

• Blur reveal on scroll and a depth transition between sections

• Fullscreen menu, smooth page transitions and a custom inverted cursor

• Smooth scroll, film grain and custom scrollbar, each with its own toggle

• Shared color and text styles, fully responsive on desktop, tablet and phone

• Respects reduced motion settings

Before you publish

• Connect the contact form to your email or a webhook in Framer.

• Photos are from Unsplash and all names, clients and prices are placeholders. Replace them with your own.

• Keep the hidden “Router Links” layer on Home and in the Inner Pages layout. It lets the menu move between pages with a transition.

• The hero, work index, menu and effects are code components, editable from their property controls.
