Codekiln is a website template for software development and product engineering agencies. Its idea: the site shows its own source.

Hero photos compile on load. Rows of amber code characters, chosen from the photo's brightness, type in left to right with a caret, then resolve into the picture, and the wordmark types in as heavy glyph cells before turning solid. The cursor is a glass view-source lens: inside it, the photo shows as its code. Scrolling away breaks the frame back into glyphs while a build readout ticks along. On phones the lens follows your touch, and visitors can switch it off.
