Activating your account

Note: This article refers to the Framer desktop app. Learn more about the differences between the Framer web and desktop app here.

When you open the Framer desktop app for the first time, you’ll be asked to enter your email or choose Sign in with Google.

If you don’t have an account yet, you’ll go through a few quick steps to create your account and activate Framer.

Creating an account

Enter your first name, last name, and a username to create your Framer account, the latter is required to allow you to publish components as packages.

Be sure to read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, then check the box to confirm that you’ve done so. You can also sign up for our design newsletter.

Confirm your email address

Once you’ve created an account, you’ll be asked to verify your email address to activate your account. After doing so, you can find the activation email directly in your inbox which will contain a link to access Framer.

Issues with an expired link, or can’t find the email? Follow the instructions below to request a new magic link to get you up and running!

Note: Ensure that you open the link from your email on the Mac device where you have Framer installed, and not on e.g. your mobile device.

Requesting a new sign-in link

Framer uses a magic link to sign you in to the desktop app. If you get a message that says the link has expired, you’ll need to:

  1. Quit Framer (CMD + Q) and restart the app
  2. Enter your email address in the welcome screen
  3. Check your inbox for an email with a new link
  4. Click the link to sign in to Framer
