When your prototype is previewed in iOS, whether directly in the mobile Safari browser or the Framer app, you may notice animations not being as smooth as you’d expect.
This may happen due to bowsers on iOS setting an initial cap to the frames per second (FPS) of any animations, until the page receives focus.
The moment the project receives focus (by tapping anywhere in the prototype), the number of FPS is no longer capped.
When does this apply to your project?
If you are previewing your prototype on iOS and notice slower animations before tapping anywhere on the screen, it may be that the FPS are still capped.
How do I force browsers on iOS to animate smoothly?
The moment your project gets focused, the number of FPS should no longer be capped and animations should be smooth.
To focus, all you need to do is tap anywhere within the prototype.
