Comment Mode

You can use Comment mode to communicate within a Framer project.

While in Comment mode, the canvas will display your comments and comments left by your project's collaborators. The right panel will display both open comments and resolved comments.

To enter Comment mode, click the Comment button in the Toolbar or press the C key.

To leave Comment mode, press the Comment button again or press the Escape key. You can also click the Exit button at the top of the left panel.

Comment Tool

Entering Comment mode will select the Comment tool. On the canvas, you can use the Comment tool to leave a comment, move a comment, or select a comment to view.

Leaving a Comment

To leave a comment, click on the canvas where you want the comment to appear. You can move a comment that you've created by dragging the comment to its new position.

Comments

In Comment mode, the right panel will list all of a project's open comments and all of its resolved comments.

To toggle between open and resolved comments, use the buttons at the top of the panel.

Viewing a Comment's Replies

To view a comment's replies, click on the comment on the canvas. You can also click on the comment on the right panel's list of comments.

To return to the list of comments, click the Exit button at the top-left corner of the panel.

Replying to a Comment

To reply to a comment, hover over the comment in the right panel's list of comments, then click the Reply button. Write your reply in the text field at the bottom of the panel, then press Enter.

You can also leave a reply by clicking on the comment to view its replies, then using the text field at the bottom of the panel.

Editing a Comment or Reply

To edit a comment or reply that you've made, view the comment's replies, hover over the comment or reply that you want to edit, click the ••• button, and click Edit.

Linking to a Comment or Reply

To create a link that points a specific comment within a project, view the comment's replies, hover over the comment or reply that you want to link to, click the ••• button, and click Copy Link.

Deleting a Reply

To delete a reply that you've made to a comment, view the comment's replies, hover over the reply that you want to delete, click the ••• button, and click Delete.

Resolving a Comment

To resolve a comment when it is no longer needed, right click the comment on the canvas and select Resolve.

You can also resolve a comment on the right panel. In the panel's list of open comments, hover over the comment that you want to resolve, click the ••• button, and click Resolve.

You can also resolve a comment from the comment's replies. Click the comment to view its replies, then click the Resolve button at the top-right corner of the panel.

Note: Resolved comments are not shown on the canvas. To view a project's resolved comments, click on the Resolved tab on the right panel.

Notifications

Depending on your role and permissions in a project, Framer may send you comment notifications by email and through your browser's push notifications.

If you are the project's owner or if you have edit permissions, you will receive a notification whenever the project has a new comment or reply.

If you have only view access to a project, you will receive a notification only when someone replies to a comment that you've made.

To opt out of a project's email notifications, click the link at the bottom of any notification email.
