Distributing your components in Framer is a great way to share your work and collaborate with others. How you structure your packages depends on your team, but we find making smaller project files with a few components easier when maintaining your design system.
To keep your packages organized, here are a few things to note when it comes to your Framer projects:
- Every package maps to a single project file.
- Do not delete your package project file. It’s your source file for a package and used for updating.
It’s best to keep one owner per Framer project, to keep your package from getting out of sync.
Collaborating on offline files
If you’d like to collaborate on a package, you can use local Framer desktop project files to integrate with git.
Note: these articles rely on using the older Framer desktop app to utilize git integration. Git integration is only possible with the desktop application.
