A quirky site with the personality of a sketchnoting studio

Noteworthy is a graphic recording studio that turns live talks, events and even weddings into complex and engaging visuals.

There is barely a Fortune 500 company in India that the team hasn't sketchnoted for. They have been in the business breathing life into events of all shapes & sizes for 11 years.

Scaling up the business

Their previous website was a single section landing page that only showed their contact information. Scaling up meant that they needed a website with a personality to match this one-of-a-kind service, so we built one just for that. We worked very closely with the team and let their illustrations take center stage.

On-brand illustrations

Custom illustrations run through the whole site, which keeps a playful, sketchy feel from the first screen to the last.

Making it come alive

Subtle animations, including gentle tilts, carefully timed scroll based appearing animation, bring their illustrations to life without turning the site into a distraction.

A projects page that stays current

We built the projects page as a CMS with filters, so the team can keep adding new work with ease. Visitors can browse the index page and narrow it down to what they want to see.

A clearer, more credible site for a credit union software partner

CU*NorthWest is a credit union service organization, owned by the credit unions it serves. They provide core banking software, support and consulting to credit unions all over the MidWest.

Their WordPress site didn't explain their services clearly, speak to a clear audience or build trust.

They came to us not just for their website, but also for rebranding. They needed a massive brand refresh which also had to be carried over to a whole new website.

A brand and imagery that build trust

The new brand language runs through every page, and the imagery shows the everyday people they work with, so the site looks credible, alive and professional.

Easy to find the right page

A large mega menu organizes a wide range of services, and sticky side menus with subtle animation keep long pages easy to move through.

Reachable behind strict firewalls

A company of this nature operates under strict finance, banking and security regulations. We not only migrated them away from Wordpress, but also setup their entire Cloudflare backend.

Old links keep working

They also needed to massively reorganize their sitemap, which led to us creating over 300+ 301 redirects so nothing on Google Search Console is broken.

A team that can update it

We ran 2 Framer training workshops so the CU*NorthWest team doesn't just own their site, but also can manage it entirely in-house.

A German learning platform site moved to Framer, built for easy updates!

Jurafuchs is a German legal learning platform for law students with 30,000 active users.

Their previous marketing site on WordPress held a large archive of blog posts and podcasts. We migrated it to Framer and built it to be easy for their marketing team to keep updated, with the whole site completely in German.

Everything carried over

About 100 blog posts and podcasts moved into structured CMS collections. A complex web of FAQs structured as a CMS collection as well.

Old URLs were kept where needed and new ones got 301 redirects, so existing links keep working and nothing breaks.

The site and all it's content was migrated over from Wordpress to Framer without a single minute of downtime.

Content that's easy to browse

Category filters on the blog and on podcasts let readers narrow a long archive down to the topic or area of law they want.

A site the marketing team can run

Most sections were built as reusable components, so the team can keep pages and content current themselves.

Fully supported in German

We at TaktForm speak fluent Deutsch so interacting with the team and working on this site was a breeze. The site, the CMS and the project work all ran in German, with no translation step between client and team.

An editorial portfolio site that lets the work take center stage

Mercer Drafting & Design is an architecture design and drafting studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They came to us to reposition themselves as the premium studio that they are and needed a site that reflects that.

We moved them away from Wordpress and designed a site that is editorial and clean.

The site is minimal, almost like a blank canvas ready to showcase their work. The images and videos take center stage while the typography works to support that imagery rather than looking like a boring paragraph.

Type here does more than merely informing the user, it acts as a part of the visual design, which gives this site a minimalistic character.

Premium but approachable

High-resolution images, videos and generous negative space give the site a premium editorial feel that still stays welcoming to a homeowner. The challenge was keeping it restrained without being boring.

Subtle animation

Refined subtle animations add life to the website, without ever coming in the way of the images.

Scalable and Maintainable

This site uses CMS collections so that the client's internal team can manage everything in-house. This not only saves them money but also makes it possible to keep the site updated with minimal effort.

Serious work for a serious company.

CU*NorthWest has been a market leader in the credit union space for over 20 years. A company at that level needs a site that carries the same weight and loses nothing in the move.

So we stepped in to design and build their site from scratch. Migrated them off WordPress and mapped over 300 redirects so nothing broke and no traffic slipped through the cracks.

We also revamped their branding into a complete system, one that reflects where they sit in their market.

Qomplement, a Y Combinator company, came to us with a clear goal: a site that gets people to the point fast.

So we designed and built it around clarity. Every screen does its job, the path through is simple and nothing slows the reader down.

The brief shapes the build, and this one called for directness.

When we started this studio just over a year ago, a project like Hive was the kind of thing we could only dream about. One of the most popular productivity tools out there, an enterprise client and a brief to migrate 1600+ pages off WordPress into Framer while maintaining their SEO equity.

They found us through the Framer partner program and we signed them on overnight, entirely over email. One of the largest builds we’ve taken on so far and a real feather in our cap.

Funny enough, we liked Hive so much along the way that it’s now what we use to run the studio.

Check it out: https://hive.com

Oh and their team is an absolute delight to work with!
