I wanted to build something interactive and have loved the mini games that have gone viral over the years. Simple and fun things that can show your competitive side. So I went down that route.
The idea is simple, dots flood the screen. Sometimes a few, sometimes loads. You just have to guess how many dots there are. Five rounds, five seconds each round.
5 challenging rounds of count the dots
You get a score based on how close your guess was
A randomly generated colour palette for each round, so no two games look the same
Sound throughout, based on time remaining, on button clicks and when the dots enter and exit
A live global leaderboard to see how you compare, add your name and country flag
Swearing filter for the leaderboard (lol)
Pretty much everything. Defining the dot generation logic, the flow of screens, the scoring, the leaderboard. Everything except for the design direction and the feel of the experience. I spent most of my time back and forth fine-tuning and tweaking.
