The template which has been the best selling up until now (because I get no sales anymore), just dropped in ranking by 4000+ templates. Is this normal? What is this algorithm. Or overall, all templates got dropped by thousands???! I am as confused as confusing gets.

It really is impressive!
4 weeks before @Framer 3.0 update: 978 clicks.
4 weeks after: 224.
That's a 77% drop. And no template sales since the update either.
So the question I keep coming back to is: is Framer really the right place to sell templates anymore?
I think it's pretty clear the focus has shifted toward AI designing websites. And honestly I get it. Right now people would rather have AI quickly spin up a personalized site than go hunting for a template. Of course Framer wants to stay on the front line as the option those customers reach for. That makes sense.
But it leaves me with a real question. Does it still make sense for me to keep making templates? My lead count has dropped hard. And with the marketplace being so open now, the ranking feels unpredictable, templates move up and down in ways I genuinely can't make sense of.
My templates used to sit relatively high, got regular sales, and were actually appreciated. Now most of them slide down the ranking a little more every day.
I still want to stay optimistic. Things change. And I'm grateful Framer gave me this opportunity to make money in the first place, and hopefully still does.
I'd like to hear what other people are seeing. For some of you it's probably working great right now, maybe better than ever.
Anyway. That's where I'm at.

For the first time in almost 2 years of doing Framer and Framer templates, I didn't get a template sale in an entire month.🥲

Well, that marks the end of the Framer Challenge Season. Didn't achieve my goal this time either, but its fine. Thinking about the position I was in 3 years ago compared to now, being able to earn even this sort of money with one time high effort templates, it's honestly mind blowing.
I am truly grateful for anything and everything, it has been an amazing journey, and hoping for an even better journey moving forward!

So I've been sitting with this new @Framer update for a bit, thinking about how it's actually been for me.
And honestly, my timeline is full of people going "templates are dead" and stuff like that. In my personal opinion that's kind of a hypocritical thing to say.
Like, you chose Framer. Framer didn't choose you. So if they decide to go a different direction, it's on you to adapt. The company doesn't owe it to you to bend around you.
And if you're the type to complain about this kind of thing, I'll be straight with you, this isn't for you. A business has its ups and downs. Some people profit off an update, some take a loss. That's just how the business side of the world works.
Now has this affected me? Yeah it has. I'm seeing a 70 to 90% drop in my click rate. So this is a big loss on my end and I'm not gonna sit here and act like it isn't.
But here's the thing most people are missing. Framer just removed the review process. Anyone can publish instantly now. So basically overnight the marketplace got flooded and discovery got shuffled around. Of course the numbers dropped. That's not Framer turning on creators, that's just a new system trying to find its balance.
And one thing I really respect about how Framer operates (just my own thought process here), they wanna scale hard but they genuinely care about the community too. They paid out 6.5M to creators last year and took 0% of it (correct me if I'm wrong). They're not trying to make the pie smaller. The start of this is gonna sting for some of us, but I have a strong feeling more fixes are already on the way for the marketplace algorithm.
I've always been bullish on Framer and I still am.
And me personally, I'm putting my trust in God with this one. Tawakkul. I do my part, build better, stay patient, and leave the rest to Him. There's khayr in this even if I can't see it right now. It's only a matter of time before this becomes the new normal, inshaAllah.
