This is the best take i came across regarding framer templates approval change.
The approval process was never really a quality filter. It was a requirements filter.
Templates that checked the boxes got in. Actual quality was secondary.
Removing it makes sense. If your work is genuinely good, it'll rise. If it doesn't, that's a design problem, not a gatekeeping problem.
More competition is only scary if you were relying on the barrier to stay relevant.

The entire Twitter design community is mad about Framer removing the template approval process after the 3.0 update.
No more quality gates. Anyone can publish templates now without getting approved first.
Designers are frustrated. The curated marketplace was part of what made Framer templates feel premium. Now that's gone.
Some are calling it a race to the bottom. Others think it's actually a good move for accessibility and speed.
Either way the timeline has been unhinged about it for days.
