Banh Mi & You, Modern Vietnamese Street Food Online

Banh Mi & You is a modern Vietnamese street food restaurant in Hamburg. The goal was to bring its bright, contemporary identity online and give customers a menu that's easy to browse on a phone.

Approach

I started by looking at who the restaurant serves: a younger, urban crowd that wants quick, good food and cares about how it looks. That set the direction for the site: clean, minimal, and a little playful, without relying on traditional Vietnamese visual cues.

Process

• Relume and ChatGPT for the sitemap and content structure

• Figma Make and Figma for layout exploration and the UI system

• Gemini to retouch the original food photos into one consistent look

• Framer for the final build and interactions

The Menu Challenge

The menu is long, and most visitors open it on mobile. Instead of cutting items, I restructured it into clear categories so people can scan and find what they want quickly. Mobile was designed as the main experience, not a scaled-down desktop.

Homepage, Menu, About, and Contact, each kept short so the food and the brand do most of the talking.
