About PetroSeq

PetroSeq is a biotech startup founded by Scott Burkholz that uses AI and soil DNA to locate petroleum. The idea is powerful, but it is hard to explain in ten seconds: microscopic organisms, genomic sequencing, probability maps. The site had to make all of that feel clear and credible to investors and operators without watering the science down.

So I built it as a story you scroll through. It opens on an offshore rig and the scroll walks you through four steps: Collect Soil, Sequence DNA, Detect and Rank Exploration Areas. Each step has its own visual panel, so a technical process becomes something you can follow at a glance. The cinematic footage was generated with AI video tools (Kling 3.0 and Veo 3.0) and converted into scroll driven animation, so the whole thing feels like one continuous film instead of a stack of sections.

Around that core there is a problem section that frames why exploration is so costly today, a news carousel called Signals worth sharing that adds credibility (including the company's selection for NVIDIA Inception), a team and advisors section, and a contact area with four clear routes: General, Investor Relations, Industry and Operators, and Scientific and Technical. Each type of visitor knows exactly where to start.

The goal was simple: give a deep tech company a website that looks as serious as the science behind it. Have a scroll through it and tell me what you think!
