About Second Star Games

Second Star Games is a UK game development studio led by veterans of the LEGO® games franchise, including founder Tom Stone. Its first title, Neverland: A Peter Pan Adventure, is made in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. I designed and built the studio's first website in Framer, launched alongside the studio's announcement.

The brief

The studio had no website. It needed one to launch three things at once: the studio itself, its partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and its first game, while also attracting new talent through open positions. The audience was twofold: young players, and the adults who often help them choose a game or buy it. The site had to speak to both.

The approach

I led the project end to end: research, moodboarding, content architecture, UI and UX design, development in Framer, launch and handover. The concept is a story told in chapters, with paper textures and details inspired by travel maps and classic adventure books. Built around the studio's concept art, the interface guides visitors from one chapter to the next like turning the pages of a storybook. The challenge was finding the right tone: magical and full of wonder, without ever feeling childish or heavy.

The result

The site launched in October 2025, as the studio's announcement was picked up by the gaming press. In the team's words: "He translated our vision for the website into something that just felt 'right'."

The live site may have evolved since launch, as the client now manages and updates it independently.
