One of the hardest decisions template creators face after finishing a product is pricing.
It's difficult because there are so many variables.
Buyer psychology. Perceived quality. Competition. Target audience. The value your product actually delivers.
There isn't a perfect formula.
One thing I've learned is this:
A lower price doesn't automatically lead to more sales.
It's easy to think, "If I price my template at $12, more people will buy it."
Sometimes that's true.
Sometimes it isn't.
A very low price can also signal that the template isn't as polished or valuable as other options. On the other hand, simply increasing your price doesn't guarantee more sales either.
I've seen creators mention that raising their prices improved sales, while others have found success with lower-priced templates.
That's why I don't think pricing should be based on fear.
Price your template according to the value you genuinely believe it delivers.
If you want to charge a premium, give people a premium product.
Go beyond the template itself.
• Clear documentation
• Setup guides
• Figma files (where appropriate)
• Walkthrough videos
• Resources that help customers launch faster
• Ideas and inspiration for using the template
The more value you provide, the easier it is to justify a higher price.
I'm curious...
What has your experience with pricing been? Have you ever increased or decreased your price and noticed a difference?
