Hey Framer fam! 👋
Ever tried creating one of those smooth, Apple-style scroll video effects, only to get stuck with a laggy, stuttering mess? I know the feeling! 😅
I spent some time exploring motion/react and created a custom, super smooth Scroll Video Player component for Framer, and I thought I’d share it with you all!
Instead of dealing with complicated timelines, this component takes care of all the hard work for you. You just drop it in, upload your video and watch it scrub perfectly as you scroll.
🧠 Pro-Tip for flawless performance: Browsers don’t like decoding videos backward in real-time. For the smoothest Apple-level performance on mobile, edit your video clip into a ‘Boomerang’ (play it forward, then copy and reverse the clip right after it). Then, just set the component to play forward on a loop. Zero lag, 100% hardware-accelerated magic. 🪄
What kind of amazing cinematic landing pages would you create with this? 👇
