Static mockups show what a product looks like. For Thread, I wanted the product visuals to go a step further and show how it behaves.

Rather than presenting the interface as a collection of screenshots, I used motion to rehearse key moments of the experience, showing how information appears, connects, and leads to the next action.

The goal wasn't to make the mockups decorative. It was to let the product experience do some of the explaining.
