Is the Framer Marketplace Really Dead?

I've been seeing a lot of posts saying that Framer 3.0 has "killed" the marketplace. Personally, I think it's still too early to make that conclusion.

AI agents are changing the way websites are built, no doubt about that. But templates and marketplaces still have an important place in the ecosystem.

Not everyone wants to spend time prompting an AI, refining outputs, and fixing inconsistencies. Many founders, agencies, and businesses still prefer polished, battle-tested templates created by experienced designers and developers.

Every major platform evolves. Sometimes those changes feel uncomfortable, especially for creators who built businesses around the previous system. But evolution doesn't automatically mean the end of an ecosystem.

I don't think the marketplace is dead. I think it's entering a new phase.

The real question isn't, "Will AI replace template creators?"

The question is, "How can creators provide value that goes beyond a template?"

Quality, trust, unique design systems, education, support, and specialized solutions will always matter.

The creators who adapt will likely find new opportunities rather than an ending.
