Paint-Reveal Component

What makes this version special:

The paint strokes automatically fade away. You reveal, it shows for a few seconds, then evaporates so you can do it again. And again. (Seriously, people get addicted to this.)

And unlike most "inspiration" recreations, this one actually works on mobile:

Desktop? Click and drag instantly.
Mobile? Double-tap to activate, prevents scroll conflicts.
Everything auto-scales so it feels natural on any screen size.

The details that matter:

Your own custom images (base layer + hidden reveal). Your own brush textures. Complete control over fade timing, brush size, and how many strokes stay visible at once.

Plus a mobile mode indicator that actually tells users "hey, you can interact with this" – because even the coolest effect is useless if nobody knows how to try it.

When this is perfect:

Product launches where the reveal IS the moment. Portfolio hero sections that need to make an impression. Before/after showcases that people actually want to explore. Anywhere you need that "wow, this is incredible" reaction.

If you're building something standard, you don't need this. But if you're creating something people will screenshot and send to their designer friends? Yeah, this is it.

Real talk:

This is the Lando effect without the custom development cost. No expensive agency. No months of back-and-forth. Just drop it in, customize it, and watch people actually engage with your site.

Setup is very simple:

Add to canvas (it defaults to 300x300, resize however you want)
Upload base image + reveal image
Drop in a brush texture (white stroke on transparent PNG)
Adjust fade speed and brush size
Ship it

⚠️ One important thing: Your brush texture needs to be white or light-colored on transparent background. Dark brushes won't reveal anything. If yours is black, just invert it in any image editor first.

Perfect for:

Hero sections that stop the scroll
Architecture portfolio reveals (sketch to render)
Photography before/after edits
Watercolor art process showcases
Product launch teasers
Interactive brand experiences
Creative portfolio showpieces
Anything that needs a "wow" moment

Mobile users double-tap to start painting. Desktop users just click. No tutorial needed.

Sometimes one interaction defines the whole experience. This is that interaction.

The component automatically scales brush sizes for optimal mobile and tablet experience.
