Distortion Text turns a headline into a surface that reacts to the cursor. Letters split into chromatic ghosts and fracture into horizontal shards as the pointer approaches, and since both distance and speed feed the effect, a slow pass ripples while a fast swipe tears the line apart. Nothing is keyframed, so no two passes look the same.

The headline stays real type. Typography comes from the Framer font control, and the motion is shaped separately: reach, strength, how far the ghosts and shards travel, and how quickly letters settle back. Fluid Type covers every breakpoint from a single instance, the effect steps aside on touch and reduced-motion, and canvas and export renders stay a clean static frame.
