About Dither Image
Give any image or video a printed, 1-bit look.
Dither Image redraws your media as a dither pattern in real time — and can reveal the original on hover, on scroll, or as it enters the screen.
What it does
- Five patterns: Bayer, Floyd–Steinberg, Atkinson, Halftone dots and ASCII
- Works on images and on videos (live, about 30 fps)
- Duotone with your own ink and paper colours, or keep the source colours
- 2–8 tone levels, brightness, contrast and invert
- Reveals: hover lens, hover fade, scroll wipe, or resolve in from big pixels
- Dark palettes work too (e.g. green ink on black paper)
- Built-in demo so it works the moment you drop it in
Good for
Studio and portfolio sites, editorial heroes, music and fashion pages, retro and terminal-style brands.

Good to know:
- Pixel processing requires media that can be read via CORS. If access is blocked, the original content is displayed.
- On slow devices, real-time video processing requires performance testing.
Included: Framer code component (TSX and install URL), setup, license and support notes, and sample media where applicable.
