About Basement 44

Most club websites list the nights. Basement 44 keeps time with them. The whole site runs on one clock at 128 BPM: the wordmark swells on every beat, a photo of the booth lights up on the first beat of each bar, the lineup pulses name by name, and the page flashes into its negative once as each section passes.

Made for techno clubs, venues, collectives and club nights that need one place for the next night, the lineup, the residents and the house rules.

Built around the beat

  • A metronome in the header. Four squares light on the beat. Click the tempo for 124, 140 or 174 BPM, tap the squares to set your own, switch it off, or turn on a synthesized kick.

  • Liquid letters. Big headings grow out of a soft blob and swell in time with the music.

  • Blobs instead of hover states. A red pool pours into buttons and the rows of the nights list, link letters melt and reform, portraits turn negative under the cursor.

  • Photos under the cursor. Move over the lineup and club photos trail behind.

Run it from the CMS

Switch one night to Featured and Home fills itself: the date, the ticket button, the full billing, the door times and a red marker in the nights list. 9 pages (Home, Nights, Night, Resident, Info, Contact, Imprint, Privacy, 404) and 2 collections: Nights (6, each with billing, door, Room 2 and residents) and Residents (3). Every text in a section is edited from the instance.

Setup

Three AI Skills are included: /setup turns it into your club in six stages and ends with your own domain, edit-notes explains the tempo and the blobs, design keeps new sections in the system. Before publishing, connect the contact form to your email and replace the demo photos. Visitors with reduced motion get the same page without the pulse and the strobe.
