About Painted Sky
Painted Sky is a website template for a small museum, gallery or exhibition space. It puts the work, the programme and the visit on one calm site, and lets the paintings carry it.
The Home page opens on a painted sky. On a first visit, brush strokes paint it in layer by layer, and then the clouds keep drifting slowly. As you scroll, the sky shrinks into a framed painting hung on a wall, with its wall label and picture light. Moving between pages, a wall-coloured brush lifts off the page you arrive on.
There are twelve pages. Exhibitions shows what is on, what opens next and what has closed. Each exhibition page hangs its works on the wall and lists its artists and talks. The Artists index reveals a band of each artist's sky on hover. Visit holds the opening hours, the price list and an isometric plan of the rooms: point at a room in the legend and it rises on the plan. There is also a Journal with a lead story, an About page, Contact with a form, Privacy, Terms and a 404.
Content lives in four CMS collections: Exhibitions, Artists, Talks and Journal. Each show's status (Current, Upcoming or Past) decides where it appears, and talks show up on the pages of their exhibition and artists. Type and colour come from five text styles in Playfair and colour styles for the three grounds, paper, wall and ink, so changing a style restyles the whole site. Desktop, tablet and phone are each designed, and the phone has its own menu.
The template comes with an editor-only Getting started guide, a /design-system page and eight skills for the Framer AI agent: always-on rules that keep the design consistent, plus /swap-hero-painting, /new-exhibition, /new-page, /retint, /retype, /polish-edit and /launch-check.
The paintings are public-domain (CC0) works from The Metropolitan Museum of Art Open Access collection, credited where they appear. The museum, the artists and the texts in the demo are fictional placeholders.
