What I would like to do… 📌
Framer shipped some major updates yesterday. One of the biggest additions is the new Agent feature. Building with Framer is going to become much easier for almost everyone.
That said, I think one thing people need to understand: prompting is now one of the most important skills.
Instead of saying "build me a website," you'll get much better results if you break things into smaller steps and prompt section by section. The more specific you are, the better the output.
But the bigger news for creators is the marketplace update.
Framer announced that template reviews are going away. Anyone can now publish a template without waiting for approval.
The concern is quality. We're likely going to see a huge increase in templates, making it harder to stand out. Great work may get buried simply because of the volume.
To be fair, Framer also said they're working on helping users discover high-quality templates more easily. So there's still reason to be optimistic.
As a creator, here are a few things I think will matter more going forward:
1. Thumbnails will become extremely important. Better thumbnails will attract more clicks and attention.
2. Being active in the community will matter more. Giving feedback, liking, and commenting on other creators' work can increase visibility.
3. Marketing is now a must-have skill. Creators who can distribute their work through X, LinkedIn, and other channels will have a major advantage.
4. Since building is becoming easier, lead magnets and free resources will become more important. Collecting emails today could help sell premium products tomorrow.
5. Instead of simple one-page landing pages, complete website packages will likely perform better. More pages, dark and light modes, tutorials, and setup services can make a template much more valuable.
These are just my initial thoughts.
Curious to hear how other creators are planning for the next few months. What changes are you making after these updates?
