I just hit my first €10k month in May only doing client work with Framer.
I’m on track to hit it again by the end of June. Writing this makes me realize how far I’ve come.
I started web design in late 2024 during my last year of uni.
My school wanted students to do an apprenticeship. A few months earlier, I had launched a web design agency with a friend. We had close to no success at first, but we were pretty excited nonetheless.
When the school announced it, I had the idea to hire myself in my own agency for the apprenticeship. My professor, being pretty chill, accepted, and that’s how it all started.
I grinded for 6 months straight, producing horrible work at first, but I rapidly got better at design and Framer. For context, I had 0 design background. I majored in economics and business.
At first, we were cold-calling businesses, telling them we had built a website we’d love to show them. It was brutal, to say the least.
My friend handled the sales side of the business while I took care of design and development. In the beginning, I also helped with prospecting because we simply had no projects to work on haha.
After a couple of months, we landed our first client: an e-commerce store.
For those who have tried building an e-commerce site with Shopify plugged into Framer, you know it’s a nightmare to set up, especially if it’s your first one.
I spent 4 months on that project. It was rough, but I learned a ton about Framer, UI, and UX.
At this point, we were making 0 money, and the school year was about to end, which meant I had to lock the fuck in if I wanted to make a living from freelancing.
After months of earning close to nothing, my friend got demotivated and we parted ways. He moved on while I had no idea what I was going to do after uni.
All I knew was that we had made some money (not much, but still) and that I had genuinely started enjoying web design.
So I kept going.
