Work-in-progress! I wanted to share two ideas for the landing page of my portfolio (and get some feedback). I shared some elements yesterday, and am considering going in a slightly different direction from that (see ideas below). I was hoping for some feedback from all of the great designers here on elements I'm working on for my design portfolio. I'm displaying 4 origami elements on the homepage (all different folds, so only one is a crane), and I'm wondering what background shape suits the idea best. The idea is that they'll be displayed alongside a link to separate pages on the site (one to my work, one to my resume, etc). Or should I go with no background at all and just let them float on the textured webpage background?? I'm not sure 😭🙏 Let me know your feedback!! :)
Day 3: of making an income with framer 3.0,
today was brand testing using Claude & my custom customization prompts. I did a basic black and white color styles to begin with, but the Agent did a good Job with the first output. next am going to try different colors maybe bold this time!
❔ Questions for those who are on the search for a freelance web designer/developer to hire: What do you hope to see in a potential hire's website? What do you NOT want to see?
Just hoping to understand the POV of the client more.
I've read some wild stories about AI chatbots going a little bit evil (low key giving "I, Robot" vibes). What chatbots are you using to guide you on Framer projects, or other design projects in general? Looking for options that aren't psycho 👀🙏

Personally, I studied graphic design in college and now I'm learning web design (outside of school) to add more skills to my toolbelt. One day I hope to be in a position where I'm doing branding and web design for small businesses.

I'm not super familiar with Framer (yet), but I am familiar with Figma. How can/do the two tools work together? How can I use both tools to optimize my workflow?

My name is Bethany Zilmer. I graduated from GCU one year ago with all kinds of knowledge on graphic design and marketing. Looking back, I wish I spent time diving deeper into web design. But now I'm using Framer to learn more and pursue my dreams (see bio). I'm enthusiastic, excited, ecstatic, etc.
If anyone has advice for an aspiring web designer, I'd love to hear it (asking for a friend). Right now, my goals are to (1) learn Framer and then (2) assemble my portfolio in Framer.
