Smooth scroll has basically become a standard in the Framer community — we're seeing more and more creators ship it by default, and honestly it's great to see the bar for motion craft rising across the ecosystem.
Quick PSA though for anyone using a "Smooth Scroll" component: a lot of them are actually wrappers around Lenis — our open-source smooth scroll library. They work, but they come with real limitations: no nested scroll, can't ship in Layout Templates, no support, and some charge you for what's essentially a free library underneath.
We're the team that builds and maintains Lenis, so we shipped the official Lenis Component for Framer. It's free, fully supported, and does everything those wrappers can't:
— Infinite scroll
— Horizontal scroll
— Nested scroll
— Scroll snap
— Touch support
— Works in Layout Templates
If you're building anything scroll-heavy in Framer, this is the one to reach for. Link below — happy to answer any questions in the replies 👇
