Framer + World Cup 2026
UI & Web Designer
I made $600 with 3 components and zero audience. Then I quit.
I wanted to share something and a few lessons I learned from it. Below is an image of 3 components I created when Framer launched the component marketplace back in 2025. I was really excited about it, made $600 with these components, zero audience, but I ended up getting discouraged when I saw clones of my components starting to pop up. It wasn't just happening to me, but to a bunch of other creators too. I don't know if they stopped making them; anyway, I got discouraged because of that and noticed sales started dropping. I don't know if the same thing will happen with template creators. My reflection here is more about consistency; maybe if I had kept going with my component catalog or tried to create some templates, but no point thinking about the past and the "what if?" It's just a reflection on being more consistent with creating, publishing, interacting, and building an audience; I believe that's the sense of community. It's what the Framer team wants with this new update. Whether templates, components, and plugins from creators will get buried or not, only time will tell, but at the end of the day, nothing really changes, because the way it was before also required consistency for creating, building an audience, and so on.
Has anyone else gone through something similar? Would love to hear your take.
