Relying only on Framer's marketplace feels like a mistake.
my experience submitting Framer templates across different marketplaces so far👇
1. SelectedSite (commission-free) I was able to sign up immediately and submit my template right away. The review process takes less than 24 hours. The upload experience was seamless, the platform is well-designed, and they don't take any commission.
2. framerthings (commission: 30%) They review your creator account first, which takes 1–2 business days. Only after approval can you upload templates, which then go through another ~24-hour review.
3. Contra (commission-free) I listed my templates without any review process. I also shared one free template as a post—it received likes and comments, but only a few remixes on the first day.
4. Frameplate (commission-free) They only publish one template per weekday, which means the current waiting list is around 10–12 weeks.
5. Creative Market (commission: confusing, but around 50%?) The signup process was instant. I submitted my template, and the application review takes 3–4 business days.
6. UI8 (commission: 30%) I applied to become a creator, but my application was rejected without any explanation. I reached out for feedback but haven't received a response yet.
7. Gallereee (submitting a template costs $69) Featuring a website is free, but submitting a template costs $69, so I haven't tried this one!

Why did I think I could reach everyone in the framer community who anticipated it? With no chat option there, I tried to reach out on X, but I couldn't find their accounts.
Rookie mistake.

Day 2 of figuring out how to market a framer template business.
Ever since the marketplace lost some of its curated feel, it seems more important to get templates featured on curated galleries and marketplaces.
For today, I'm only focusing on free options. If they bring results, I'll consider paying for premium listings later. Right now, the goal is to grow revenue using free distribution.
So far I've found:
💸Paid: landingbook, awwwards, gallereee
🎉Free: contra, frameplate
🤝Revenue share: UI8, framerthings
The downside is that if you don't pay for priority, the review process can take weeks. So this definitely isn't a quick win.
My plan is to submit to most of these and also list all my templates on contra.
Am I missing any good marketplaces or galleries worth applying to?
Yesterday, I tried Reddit to promote my framer templates, and it didn't go the way I expected.
As a new user, I ran into a ton of issues.
First, I updated my profile. After leaving my first few comments, my profile picture, bio, and links were all wiped.
When I tried to upload them again, I just got a server error.
What's funny is that I wasn't even promoting my own templates. I was replying to people asking how to build a website, recommending Framer and mentioning that using a template is a good option if they don't want to start from scratch.
Some of my comments were removed because "my account was only 14 days old". So I guess the first lesson is to create an account and let it age before you do anything.
I also made a post asking where people promote their templates. Deleted.
Then I looked through the framer subreddit and saw plenty of people posting about their marketplace rankings or sharing new templates. I made a similar post about mine, and it was removed instantly.
That part was especially confusing.
I get that Reddit wants to fight bots and spam, but it feels extreme when a genuine new user can't participate at all for the first couple of weeks.
I'll come back in two weeks and see if things improve. Right now though, it was mostly confusion and frustration.
I wouldn't recommend Reddit as a marketing channel if you're starting from a brand-new account.
The biggest question is, how are we supposed to promote our work when almost anything that looks like promotion/recommodation gets removed?
Can you still make money selling @framer templates today?
After the marketplace changes, relying on one platform is no longer enough. Sales have definitely slowed down.
So I'm running a 7-day experiment.
Every day I'll test one new channel to promote my templates and see what actually moves the needle.
Think: tiktok, other marketplaces, dribbble, pinterest, etc. And I'll share everything I learn along the way.
