I saw a lot of posts today of framer experts disappointed about the new framer template marketplace open to everybody
Firstly , I think we should understand that , framer is a business entity, from the business side of things , opening the marketplace means there will be millions added per month and that means more money and more numbers, it’s more of a business decision
Secondly, Opening it up means , the community gets to decide what’s best , I guess it will be decided based on likes and rating instead of human’s biased intuition
Thirdly, it makes them compete, figma simmilarly has a marketplace of apps they share, the better factor is monetization , eg I have a figma plugin that has thousands of downloads , if it was on framer , I’ll definately be making some coffee money off that
Fourthly , it means the team has time to do other things rather than just verifying templates
Anyways it’s good win for everyone
