I can still track growth through only remixes.
But 1.2K people choosing to tap “like” on something I made felt different.
Maybe that’s not the best metric. Maybe it never was. But it was human.
I’ve seen a lot of people on X saying removing likes and comments was a good move, and I get the reasoning. My experience is just a little different.
I started using Framer on June 17th, 2026, around the same time Framer 3.0 launched, so likes and comments were part of the experience from day one for me.
I wouldn’t say they defined whether my work was good or bad, but they were a small, reassuring signal that something connected.
One of my favorite templates wasn’t the one I spent the most time on, the most personal, or even the most creative.
It was the one where around 1.2K people took a second to tap the like icon.
That meant something to me.
They could’ve just clicked Remix and been on their way, but they chose to leave that tiny signal. Over time, that became part of how I understood the template’s growth and my own progress.
I can still see how a template is growing and performing through stats, but there’s something different about knowing a real person chose to interact with it.
I’m also going to miss opening Activity and seeing likes and comments come in. Even with no sales, it was a useful signal that people were noticing the work.
I genuinely hope this change works better for the creators it was meant to help.
