Hive

An Enterprise 1,600+ page site redesigned & rebuilt in Framer for a fixed launch date

Hive is a leading work & project management platform used by teams at Google, Toyota, EA and the NBA among others.

Its old marketing site had grown on WordPress to more than 1,600 pages (with posts) in English and Spanish, and their in-house marketing team needed it all moved to Framer before launch. We worked alongside Hive’s head of design to map the full site, rebuild it and delivered it on a tight timeline.

This was also a special one for us, since we use Hive to run our studio operations as well!

Nothing lost in the move

We mapped every page and post before building anything, then carried the SEO structure across to Framer and organized it on the backend. Nothing was cut and no SEO equity was lost.

A blog archive that arrived clean

The WordPress blog exported as a CSV needed heavy cleaning before it could go into the Framer CMS. We wrote a script to do it, so the full archive moved over in one upload instead of being rebuilt post by post.

A site non-designers can edit

The whole site is component driven and every page draws on the design system. Hive’s team can update content and layouts themselves, and a site this large stays consistent as it grows.

A site driven by CMS

We build Hive with multiple CMS collections. Particularly their massive list of features (100+ features across 4 pricing plans and 11 categories) is a completely CMS driven layout with filters setup to keep their ever growing list of features updated with ease.

Design decisions made together

We worked closely with Hive’s head of design throughout. Where a layout or flow could be better, we said so and offered a better one. This was their first time on Framer and our expertise is what they relied on.

A launch that held its date

Hive’s launch date was fixed and the marketing team was not about to miss it. We worked around Hive’s time zone and answered questions quickly, so everything stayed right on schedule.
