Monks and Freaks

Brief Monks and Freaks is a running community from Poprad, Slovakia, built around growing spiritually, mentally and physically. They organise regular community runs with reflections and several larger events each season with guest speakers. They needed a website that explains why the community exists, not just what it does, and that turns visitors into runners who actually show up.

Approach We built the site around the brand’s philosophy, “Live for the things worth dying for”, and gave it a bold, slightly rebellious tone that mixes contemplative and athletic imagery. The core of the site is a custom scroll-driven editorial story with parallax, which unfolds the community’s values (discipline, silence, purpose, freedom) as one continuous narrative. It’s followed by a community section about runs and events, with a clear “run with us” call to action that leads to their Strava club, plus links to the challenge, newsletter and socials.

Result A site that feels like the community itself: raw, honest and full of motion. It gives the brand a strong voice and a single home for everything they do, from weekly runs to seasonal events.
