My own studio, designed and built to the standard I sell.

The studio

Simply Begin is a one-person web and brand design studio in Johannesburg, for good businesses whose website hasn't caught up with them. The pitch is "You're better than you look," so the studio's own site couldn't be guilty of the same gap.

The brand

I built the identity from scratch: the name, the wordmark, the colour and type system, and a voice that's plain and blunt on purpose. No hype, no "we," because when you hire me, you get me.

The Framer build

The header has a live "Available now" status next to a Johannesburg clock that ticks in real time. The hero uses a slowly shifting colour gradient instead of stock photography. Pricing is listed openly and switches between ZAR and USD depending on where the visitor is, using Framer's createStore. Case studies run on the CMS.

What sets it apart

A free brand audit is built into the site: paste a URL and get a score out of 100. I read every report and adjust it by hand before it goes out. The footer sums it up: "Built in Framer, obviously."
