Yugeisha

Yugeisha is a Japanese publisher of books, comics, photo books and e-books, guided by the message "There is something we want to leave behind, now."

Our approach

We treated the site like a book. Vertical Japanese typesetting, generous margins and a quiet navy-and-paper palette put the authors' words first, while slow, flowing line motion adds a contemporary feel without competing with the titles.

What we did

• Web design rooted in traditional Japanese editorial typography, including vertical text

• Framer build with CMS collections for works and news, so the editorial team can publish on their own

• Custom code components

• Ongoing renewal and maintenance
