Most hostel homepages lose the guest in the first screen.
Not because the property isn’t good. Because the first screen shows a big photo and a “Book Now” button, and nothing in between.
When I designed the HostelX hero, I gave the first screen three jobs:
1. Show the vibe
“Meet your next travel crew.” A headline about people, not beds. Photo cards for rooms, rooftop, common area, tours and location give a feel for the stay at a glance
2. Earn trust
Rating and review count with guest faces, plus a book-direct promise right under the headline. Guests look for proof before they look for dates.
3. Make booking obvious
Check-in, check-out, guests and search, all before the scroll, ready to connect to whatever booking engine the hostel already uses
A question for Designers and Framer folks
would you keep the tilted photo cards, or go with one full-bleed photo? I’d like to hear how you’d approach it.
