About Papery 3D BooksShelf
PAPERY : The 3D bookshelf that turns scrolling into shelving.
Forget flat thumbnails. Papery is a 3D library that opens the way a real book does: pull one forward, watch it swing, and land on pages you can actually read. Every cover, spine, and back is generated procedurally, rendered entirely in Canvas 2D. No textures shipped, no plugins, no WebGL in sight.
✦ Two Ways to Browse
Shelf: a scrolling row that reacts to your cursor, spines fanning open as you pass like fingers walking a shelf
Stack: a spinning drum you rifle through like a rolodex, with curve, pile depth, and stagger all in your hands
✦ Books That Feel Real
Foil-stamped titles, aged paper, leather grain, all generated per book, not pasted on
One age slider takes a jacket from off-the-press crisp to attic-find distressed: cracking, mottling, staining, the works
Spine and cover width can run on auto, sized from page count and image aspect, or be pinned manually book by book
✦ Reading, Not Just Looking
Each book holds multiple articles, formatted with headers, quotes, and lists, so this is a shelf you can actually read
A torch light trails your cursor across the open page like you're reading by lamplight
A one-shot selection effect, aurora, glow, pulse, or highlight, flares across the cover the instant it opens, then gets out of the way
✦ Tuned for Craft
Deep property controls: curve, gap, tilt, panel side, swing direction, hover lift, all exposed
Reduced-motion respected automatically, no extra setup
Panel type, color, and spacing fully themeable to match your brand
Built for portfolios, editorial archives, and product catalogs, anywhere "browse" should feel like something, not just scroll.
