Need help!

I recently asked the new agent feature to help me with something and it created many more problems than solutions.

My website is a portfolio site that utilizes CMS to create grids of thumbnails, through components, for my projects. I have one of these grids on my landing page and another with my work in it's own section. The thumbnails are squares, but I would rather they be rectangles that scale horizontally for desktop and vertically for mobile. I made a variant for mobile and for desktop. I got the scaling to work for mobile, but desktop will not budge. Not only that, but now the grid on my project page extends past the view and projects are invisible. I'm mostly using the "fill" page setting for the containers.

Can anyone offer any advice? I feel like I'm going crazy.
