About Windows 98 Dialog

Windows 98 Dialog recreates the classic Windows 98 / VB4-style dialog box — the pixel-accurate title bar, the beveled 3D buttons, and the original bitmap system font, all rebuilt in a single self-contained component.

It's fully self-contained: the font is embedded directly in the component, so there's nothing to load and no external dependencies. Drop it on your canvas, edit the title and message, and you've got an authentic retro dialog — perfect for portfolio easter eggs, 404 pages, changelogs, or any project that wants a nostalgic OS feel.

Key Features

  • Editable title and message (supports multiple lines)

  • Two configurable buttons — label, show/hide, link, open in new tab

  • Minimize, Maximize, and Close window controls with authentic press states

  • Optional draggable title bar

  • Optional "Hide On Close" behavior on the Close button

  • Zero external dependencies — font embedded directly in the component

  • Based on 98.css by Jordan Scales (MIT license)

Lightweight, self-contained, and ready to drop into any project.
