Bring Back Free Workshop AI for Components
I love what Framer 3.0 is bringing to the platform, especially the new AI Agent. Generating complete pages, layouts, and entire website experiences is a powerful feature and feels like a major step forward.
However, I think there should be a clear distinction between the new AI Agent and Workshop AI.
Before Framer 3.0, Workshop AI was primarily used to create components, modify existing components, refine layouts, and help speed up the design and development process. It wasn't generating entire websites or complete product experiences. It was a lightweight assistant that helped us build faster inside Framer.
Now, Workshop AI is subject to daily credit limits, and many users are running out of credits while performing the same component-related tasks they were doing before.
My suggestion:
✅ Keep AI Agent credits separate.
✅ Restore free Workshop AI for creating and modifying components.
✅ Reserve credit limits for full-page generation and advanced AI Agent workflows.
✅ Preserve the component-building workflow that long-time Framer users have relied on.
The new AI Agent is an entirely new capability and it's reasonable for it to have its own limits. But Workshop AI was already a core part of the Framer experience, and component creation/editing should remain freely accessible as it was before.
Curious to hear what the community thinks. Should Workshop AI for component creation and modification remain free, with AI Agent credits applied only to larger AI-generated page and site creation tasks?
